Terms of Service

Resin EDA is a browser-based electronics design tool: schematic capture, PCB layout and routing, component sourcing, electrical and design-rule checks, 3D viewing, collaboration, import from other EDA tools, and manufacturing outputs, with Resin AI assisting across the workflow. By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy.

You are responsible for the projects, files, prompts, and other content you put into the service, for having the right to use them, and for reviewing anything the service produces before you rely on it.

Keep your sign-in details accurate and private, and turn on two-factor authentication if your work warrants it. You are responsible for what happens under your account, including the actions of people you invite into a workspace. Tell us at hello@resineda.com if you think your account has been compromised.

If you create or join a workspace for a company or other organization, you confirm that you are allowed to accept these terms on its behalf. The organization's Admins control its workspace, its members, and the projects in it.

You own your schematics, PCB files, libraries, bills of materials, design documents, manufacturing outputs, comments, and every other piece of project content you create or upload. Resin EDA claims no ownership of your design data and no license to use it for anything other than running the service for you.

You grant Resin EDA only the limited rights needed to host, store, process, display, back up, and transmit your content so that you and the collaborators you authorize can use the service. Those rights end when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that persist in backups until they age out.

Output that Resin AI generates for you, such as a drafted schematic, a routed board, a design review, or a part recommendation, is yours to use as part of your project, subject to the review obligations below. Resin does not train models on your content.

Resin AI can draft, edit, route, review, and explain designs. It is an aid to engineering judgment, not a substitute for it. AI output can be wrong in ways that look plausible: a mis-wired pin, an unsuitable part, a clearance that violates your fab's rules, a datasheet value misread. Every AI change lands in your project as an ordinary edit so that you can inspect, correct, or undo it.

Before you order boards, source parts, ship a product, or rely on a design for anything that matters, you are responsible for verifying electrical behavior, safety, regulatory compliance, manufacturability, component availability and licensing, and the correctness of every manufacturing file. Resin EDA does not warrant that any generated or imported design is correct, complete, compliant, or manufacturable.

Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the service or to other customers' data, probe or overload the service, upload malware, scrape the service, resell access, or use Resin EDA to violate any law, including export-control, intellectual-property, and privacy law. If you want to test the security of the service, email hello@resineda.com first and we will agree on a scope.

Do not upload content you do not have the right to use, and do not use the service to design something intended to cause harm. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.

Every new account starts with a free 14-day Pro trial for its first workspace. Team and Enterprise have no separate trial. Nothing is charged until you subscribe.

Resin Pro costs $199 USD per user per month for one paid user. Team costs $149 USD per user per month for 2 to 5 paid users, with a minimum monthly charge of $298 USD before discounts and applicable tax. Both are charged up front through Stripe and renew monthly until canceled. Changes to the plan or the paid-user count are prorated for the rest of the billing period. Enterprise pricing and terms are agreed separately in writing. We may change prices or plan limits prospectively with reasonable notice; changes never apply to a period you have already paid for.

If you cancel within 7 days of your workspace's first purchase, we refund the full amount actually paid, including collected tax and less anything already refunded, and paid access ends immediately. This guarantee applies once, to the first purchase, not to renewals, prorated changes, or later subscriptions.

After that window, canceling stops the next renewal; paid access continues to the end of the period you have paid for, and no automatic refund is issued. Your projects remain available to view and export after paid access ends. Cancel from Usage & billing in the product, or email hello@resineda.com. Nothing here limits refund rights you have under applicable law.

AI usage is metered in credits included with each plan. Credits reset monthly, do not roll over, and there are no automatic overage charges: when credits run out, new AI tasks pause and everything else keeps working.

Resin EDA relies on third parties for hosting, AI models, billing, email, sign-in, and component data. They are named in the Privacy Policy, and each has its own terms and availability. We are not responsible for outages or changes on their side, though we will work around them where we can.

Component prices, stock, lifecycle status, datasheets, and 3D models come from distributors and manufacturers and change without notice. Treat them as a starting point and confirm them with the authoritative source before you buy or release a design.

Some features are labeled preview, beta, or coming soon. They may be incomplete, change without notice, or be withdrawn, and they are provided without any commitment about their behavior. Rely on them accordingly.

Resin EDA is a young product and changes often. We may add, change, or remove features. If we discontinue the service or a feature you depend on, we will give reasonable notice where practical and keep your export path working so you can take your files elsewhere.

The service is provided as is and as available, to the fullest extent the law allows, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that any design, check result, export, or AI output is correct.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Resin EDA is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, business interruption, fabrication costs, respins, recalls, or procurement costs, arising from your use of the service, even if we were told they were possible.

To the fullest extent the law allows, Resin EDA's total liability for all claims arising from the service in any twelve-month period is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in that period. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You can stop using Resin EDA and delete your account or organization from Settings at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you materially breach these terms, if your use creates a security or legal risk, or if the law requires it; where practical we will tell you why and give you a chance to export your projects first.

Sections that should reasonably survive termination do, including ownership of your designs, the review obligations for AI output, payment obligations, disclaimers, and limits of liability.

We may update these terms as the product and the law change. The date at the top shows the current version. For material changes we will tell you in the product or by email before they take effect, and continuing to use the service after that means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these terms or the service will be brought in the state or federal courts located in California, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction.
